Our client is a tier 1 mining organisation with several coal mines across the Bowen Basin region.
Your new role
Throughout your new role as Study Project Manager, you will coordinate the study and approval of all Earth Moving Equipment (EME) projects on each site.
Your key accountabilities will include:
- Being accountable for the timely development and approval of assigned EME Projects in line with the EME Procurement Procedure and to meet project KPIs.
- Update and maintain Gearbase with key project information on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Be the key point of contact for site stakeholders during planning and approval activities.
- Facilitate reviews of key project documentation with site stakeholders during project development.
- Apply project processes to ensure compliance with site requirements.
- Ensuring cost forecasting is adhered to and accurate.
- Maintain schedule of assets and handling delays that will minimise impact to project prior to handover to the delivery team.
- Conduct factory inspections on EME located at OEM premises with site representatives.
- Order items required for delivery activities.
- Identify and minimise potential safety risks during delivery of EME deliveries and disposals. If an unacceptable level of risk is identified, take action to reduce the level of risk to an acceptable level.
- Conduct regular formal and informal Field Leadership activities to meet monthly KPIs.
- Ensure compliance to Engineering Standards for all plant and equipment across the operation being delivered or demobilised.
- Report and investigate incidents as per the site Incident Management Manual.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and discuss with the Lead EME Projects.
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, or relevant trades experience
- Extensive industry experience working on delivering projects and exposure to a coal mine site is desired
- Previous experience using SAP Work Management Systems, and Microsoft Suite exposure is advantageous
- Strong communication skills, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate across teams and with site personnel.
